The Detroit Lions recently completed their final practice in pads before their preseason opener against the New York Jets on Friday. Louis Delmas participated and spoke with the media after practice.
The news is good as Delmas said he feels as good as he has in two years – evidence the Lions’ cautious approach to managing his knee pain is working. That being said, Delmas isn’t sure he will play in Friday’s game.
There is no doubt Lions fans would love to see him on the new Ford Field turf but the Lions and Delmas will have to come to a decision about what in the best interest of his long-term health. Maybe they can give him a series or two in the first preseason game at home then sit him for game two on the road.
