The Detroit Lions released Alex Elkins earlier in the day but it turns out he isn’t the only one whose days in camp are over. The Lions also announced the release of wide receiver/special teams player Devin Thomas. Thomas started camp on the PUP list but practiced for the first time yesterday.
The Lions have added cornerback Brandon King to help with depth as Jonte Green and Chris Greenwood deal with hamstring issues. King went undrafted out of Purdue in 2010 but has spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars. He has appeared in eight career games with one fumble recovery and a tackle to his credit.
The Lions’ roster currently sits at 89 players, leaving room for one more addition before the team gets back to work tomorrow.
