It’s been a while since I posted an updated Detroit Lions mock draft database and with this being the last weekend before the combine, it is a good chance to check in to see where popular opinion currently sits.

A look at a total of 71 mock drafts published between 2/10/13 and 2/15/13 says the pick will be…Alabama cornerback Dee Milliner.

Milliner was the pick in 24 of the 71 mock drafts (33.8%) but was closely followed by Damontre Moore (18 of 71) and Bjoern Werner (17 of 71). The balance of picks was made up by (in order of frequency) Jarvis Jones, Barkevious Mingo, Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel and Ezekiel Ansah.

While the mock draft database shows a preference for Dee Milliner, changing from a player-centered view to a position-centered view tells a different story.

The strength of Moore and Werner’s showing makes defensive end the most likely position for the Lions to draft according to this group of mocks. Defensive ends take a 54.93% of database picks for the Lions while cornerback is entirely represented by Milliner’s 33.8%. Jarvis Jones (important to note that Jones is also regarded as a pass rusher) gives outside linebackers a fraction more than a 7% stake in the database while offensive tackle picks up the last 4.23%.

The full list of mocks and picks is available on page two.
