2013 NFL Mock Draft: The Detroit Lions Select…

It is clear the Lions need to address the safety position this offseason. But how would you feel about them doing so in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft?

That is exactly what happens in the latest mock draft on FanSided.com. Josh Sanchez has the Lions selecting Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro with the fifth overall pick. He explains:

Vaccaro is flying up draft boards and could easily land in the top ten. As for number five with the Lions, it would be easy to see Detroit taking Dee Milliner or a pass rusher with this pick, but Vaccaro is a game-changer in the defensive backfield and is the best ball-hawking defensive back in this year’s class. For a team that needs help in the secondary, Vaccaro would be a great pick. There is nothing this player cannot do.

Vaccaro has been a hot name of late with our own Braden Shackelford picking him for the Lions in his most recent mock draft. This same pick can also be found on The National Football Post in Russ Lande’s Mock Draft 3.0 so there is definitely some momentum building.
