The Super Bowl XLVII matchup is set with the conclusion of today’s conference championship games. It’s the San Francisco 49ers out of the NFC and the Baltimore Ravens out of the AFC.
So who is a Lions fan to root for in the Super Bowl?
The Lions and 49ers haven’t had the friendliest of exchanges over the last two years – most notably a heated postgame handshake between Jim Schwartz and Jim Harbaugh. I can’t imagine many Lions fans cheering on the Harbaugh-led 49ers, especially with the petulant child sideline act continuing as recently as the NFC Championship Game.
The problem is that there is another Harbaugh on the other side. Will the run-ins with Jim be taken out on John as well? Maybe, but the Lions have little to no history with the Ravens. Perhaps they are the choice out of simple indifference.
