A trio of Alabama football players announced their decision to declare for the 2013 NFL Draft, one of whom could be in the running to be selected by the Detroit Lions with the fifth overall pick.
It is no surprise that cornerback Dee Milliner will forgo his remaining eligibility to enter the draft but that decision was made official at a press conference today. Milliner is widely regarded as the top cornerback in the draft and with the Lions having a need for playmakers in the secondary, He could be the pick.
Lions defensive coordinator likes having big corners, something the team lacks at the moment. At 6’1″ and 199 pounds, Milliner seems to fit the profile the Lions are looking for.
Running Back Eddie Lacy and offensive tackle D.J. Fluker also will enter the NFL Draft. Lacy made his announcement at the same press conference but Fluker was not able to be present.
