Detroit Lions NFL Draft Prospects: January 6 Bowl Game Viewing Guide

The college bowl system may be watered down but it does provide for a final look at a number of draft-eligible players on a nationals stage. Here is the bowl schedule for today as well as a look at a few players that could be on the Lions’ radar come April. Bowl
Kent State vs. Arkansas State
9 p.m. ET, ESPN

Brian Winters, OT, Kent State – Some may have concerns about Winters coming out of the MAC but it’s hard to argue against a 6’5″, 310 pound frame and his experience as a four-year starter. Teams looking for a tackle in round 3 or 4 are likely to consider Winters.

Dri Archer, RB/WR, Kent State – The Lions could use a versatile speedster to replace Jahvid Best and they may not have to invest a high draft choice to do it if they look to Dri Archer to do it. At the very least, Archer would be an upgrade over Stefan Logan. He is mulling over a decision to enter the draft or return for his redshirt senior season but he has said the head coaching change will impact his decision. The biggest knock on Archer might be his size, a minus that can’t be changed by returning to school.

Arkansas State doesn’t have anyone currently considered draftable but there are a few guys that play positions of need for the Lions that could get a chance in an NFL training camp.
