Calvin Johnson’s progression through the Madden 13 cover tournament had some fans fearing the Madden Curse would grab hold of the star receiver. The entire notion of the curse is ridiculous on the surface and only looks worse when inspected up close. Even this site’s effort to assuage fears weren’t enough to calm everyone by the time Calvin Johnson was announced as the winner over Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.
Calvin Johnson wasn’t the only football player with Lions ties to get named to a video game cover. Barry Sanders won a vote over other former Heisman trophy winners to appear on the cover of NCAA Football 13 with Robert Griffin III.
