The Detroit Lions got Louis Delmas (knee) back on the practice field today, albeit in a limited role.
Still, that’s a good sign that he will play against the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday night.
The ongoing injury saga has undoubtedly frustrated fans and it has frustrated Delmas as well:
“Very frustrating,” he said today. “If anybody knows me, you know I’m very excited about the game, I’m very passionate and, like I said, football is my life. For me not to be able to go out here and participate with my teammates and do what I love the most, it hurts.
“I just got to keep my mind right and my head straight and try to coach up when I’m not out there and try to play the best I can when I’m out there.”
Getting Delmas back at practice was a good sign in itself but he outright told the media today that he plans to play on Saturday.
Things aren’t looking as good for Brandon Pettigrew. An ankle injury is still keeping him out with one practice day remaining before the Lions face the Falcons.
Barring any changes to the team’s health in the next couple days, it looks like only Brandon Pettigrew may need to be held out due to injury.
