The Monday Night Football crew will be in Detroit on Saturday night to broadcast the Detroit Lions game against the Atlanta Falcons to a national audience. With the Lions losers of six straight and the Atlanta Falcons needing just one win to wrap up home field advantage throughout the playoffs, it would seem the Lions are primed for another embarrassment.
Fortunately for those still hoping to see some good football out of the 2012 Lions, the sports books are expecting a good game. The early betting line has installed the Lions as four point underdogs to the Falcons.
The folks in Vegas are also expecting a fairly high scoring game, setting the early over/under at 50.5. That’s the second highest point total of week 16. Only Saints-Cowboys is higher at 51.5.
It would seem that laying four points and taking the Falcons is the better choice to make. The funny thing about the NFL is that so much can change from week to week. Look no further than the Lions’ last opponent, the Cardinals. It looked like they were going mail in the rest of the season after being thumped 58-0 by the Seahawks. Instead, it was the Lions who looked ready to hit the golf course.
How would you bet?
