The Detroit Lions’ losing streak of five games entering week 15 was the third longest active losing streak in the league. The longest belonged to the Arizona Cardinals at nine games while the Oakland Raiders entered the week as losers of six in a row.
Unfortunately, we know what happened with the Arizona Cardinals – their convincing win over the Lions got them off the schneid.
That leaves the Oakland Raiders. Their 15-0 win over the Kansas City Chiefs leaves the Lions with the league’s longest active losing streak.
The six-game losing streak the Lions now find themselves on is the longest in a season since they finished 2009 with six-straight losses.
When the streak will end is not clear. The Lions host the Atlanta Falcons next week and while the Falcons have already punched their ticket to the playoffs, they need another win to guarantee the NFC’s number one seed. The 2012 season closes with a home game against the Chicago Bears, who may still be fighting for a playoff berth.
