Detroit Lions Injury Report: Louis Delmas Returns to Practice

The never ending injury saga involving Louis Delmas took another turn yesterday, this time for the better. Delmas missed the first practice of the week but returned Thursday as a limited participant, a sign that he may be able to play against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Lions have been a better defense with Delmas on the field with the only problem being the inability of Delmas to actually stay on the field. Doing so through the final three games would be a good sign.

Nick Fairley (shoulder) and Brandon Pettigrew (ankle) were the only Lions to miss today’s practice. Both are importantly players and it would be nice to see Pettigrew in particular put together a solid final stretch of games to close out 2012. Injuries are not helping there.

Don Carey (knee), Chris Houston (hamstring), Calvin Johnson (knee), Jacob Lacey (foot/Achilles) and Ronnell Lewis (illness) joined Delmas on the list of players that practiced on a limited basis.

Corey Hilliard (knee) was listed on the injury report for a second-straight day but hasn’t had his practice reps limited as a result.
