Shack’s NFC North Predictions: Week 13

facebooktwitterreddit

Greetings NFL fans! The end of the regular season is approaching, and if the Lions don’t start turning their record around at least contending for a playoff spot, my house is going to be a nightmare for everyone else for the next six months. Week 13 feature one NFC North division game in the Vikings and Packers, another NFC match up in the Seahawks and Bears, and an AFC-NFC match up between the Colts and the Lions. Can the Packers bounce back after an embarrassing lose to the Giants? Will the Seahawks pull off the upset against the Bears? Will it be Matthew Stafford and the Lions who come out as the victors of the battle of the former number one picks?

Here are my week 13 predictions:

It’s been a rough season for the Lions to say the least as they continue to lose close games that they are not only capable of winning, but should be winning. This week the Lions will try to slow down the up and coming Colts led by the sensational rookie quarterback, Andrew Luck. Luck might have led what was a 2-14 team last year to seven wins in just 11 games, but he’s going up against the NFC this week where wins are hard to come by. Don’t forget it’s a road game too and Luck has thrown 10 of his 13 interceptions on the road this season. I don’t think this game will be a blow out, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Lions won this game by two or three scores. However, this is the same team that keeps every game close regardless of who they are playing and for that reason alone this is Shack’s Game Of The Week.

Prediction: Lions win 27-17

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

The Vikings are too one dimensional to be a week in and week winner. If Adrian Peterson doesn’t have a break out performance every game, then the Vikings have a difficult time scoring points. Given the Packers injury situation I’d say the Vikings have a decent shot of winning this game, however the Packers are coming off a whooping on national TV against the Giants last Sunday night. I doubt Rodgers let’s that happen again. In fact, I foresee the Packers playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder and putting the game away early.

Prediction: Packers win 30-10

Seattle Seahawks at Chicago Bears

I think we all know the outcome of this game. The Bears are one of the better home teams in the NFL and the Seahawks are by far one of the worst road teams in the NFL. The Seahawks are 6-5 with their only road win against the Carolina Panthers, who are one of the worst teams this seasons. Jay Cutler is healthy and the Bears’ defense will thrive in front of the their home crowd.

Prediction: Bears win 24-10

Recap: I have all but the Vikings winning this week in the NFC North as the Bears, Lions, and Packers enjoy home field advantage. Don’t forget to leave a comment and share your NFC North Predictions! I’ll do my best to respond to any questions or comments you might have.
