The Ford Field television booth will be occupied by CBS for a second straight week when the Detroit Lions host the Indianapolis Colts. The big difference this week is the broadcast won’t go out to a national audience and the top CBS crew won’t be on hand to call the action.
CBS will be sending play-by-play man Ian Eagle and Hall of Fame quarterback turned television analyst Dan Fouts.
For some reason playing the word association game with Ian Eagle makes me immediately think of those glorious early round March Madness games. That’s probably not fair since Eagle is a respected NFL broadcaster and likely a result of me watching far more NFL games on FOX, like any other fan of a team in the NFC.
The Lions-Colts game might not seem like it would be a headlining matchup but week 13 actually contains a lot of terrible games. That works out in the two fanbases’ favor as we’ll get the number three CBS crew calling the game.
