Detroit Lions Injury Update: Backus, Delmas, Leshoure Return to Practice

No player is truly healthy at this point in an NFL season. That being said, today’s injury report released by the Detroit Lions is encouraging as only two players are listed as having missed the entirety of today’s practice.

Jonte Green is one of those guys (illness) for the second straight day. The other is Kyle Vanden Bosch. He was not on the initial injury report released after yesterday’s practice. KVB has been given regular rest througout the season although his absences had been listed on the injury report at “not injury related”, today’s report says “neck”. Still, the off day doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary.

The really good news is that Cliff Avril (back), Jeff Backus (hamstring), Louis Delmas (knee),  Mikel Leshoure (ankle) and Corey Williams (knee) were able to get at least a few reps in today after sitting out yesterday.

The rest of the injury report remains unchanged from a day ago with Chris Houston (ankle), Calvin Johnson (thumb), Jacob Lacey (foot/knee), Ashlee Palmer (thumb) and Rob Sims (hamstring) taking part in practice on a limited basis.

One last update complete with game day status designations will be released tomorrow afternoon.
