The Detroit Lions had some time away from the normal grind following their Thanksgiving Day game against the Texans but got back on the practice field today to get ready for the Colts.
Unfortunately, the long weekend wasn’t enough for all the Lions as six players missed today’s session.
Louis Delmas (knee) wasn’t able to finish last Thursday’s game and was among the list of players out of action today. Joining him were Cliff Avril (back), Jeff Backus (hamstring), Jonte Green (illness), Mikel Leshoure (ankle) and Corey Williams (knee).
Backus saw his 186-game consecutive games played streak come to an end last week and is intent on ending his games missed streak at one.
Chris Houston (ankle), Calvin Johnson (thumb), Jacob Lacey (foot/knee), Ashlee Palmer (thumb) and Rob Sims (hamstring) were able to practice but did not receive their normal number of reps as a result of their ailments.
Returning to practice was Titus Young who was in a team-mandated time out to think about his actions. He apparently responded in a way that pleased the organization – at least enough for them to let him out of his room.
