Detroit Lions Injury Report: Louis Delmas Returns to Practice

Is this the week Louis Delmas returns for the Detroit Lions? The thin secondary could definitely use it and Delmas has cleared the first hurdle by returning to practice today.

He is officially listed as being a limited participant but it isn’t about reps for Delmas. It’s about testing his knee to see how it feels and perhaps more importantly, how it feels in the morning.

Of the players actually allowed at the Lions’ practice facility, only Drayton Florence (concussion) and Jeff Backus (hamstring) did not practice. Jim Schwartz has already characterized Backus’s chances of playing as doubtful and it is hard to imagine Florence being able to go just three days after waking up with concussion symptoms.

Joining Delmas as limited participants were Cliff Avril (back), Sammie Hill (knee), Calvin Johnson (knee/thumb), Jacob Lacey (foot), Erik Coleman (eye), Chris Houston (ankle), Ashlee Palmer (chest), Rob Sims (hamstring) and Corey Williams (knee).

Jason Hanson (left foot) and Ndamukong Suh (knee) were also listed on today’s injury report but did not miss any of their normal practice reps.
