Detroit Lions Injuries: Cliff Avril and Calvin Johnson Return to Practice

After some confusion yesterday regarding whether or not Cliff Avril had been cleared following the concussion he suffered in last Sunday’s game, the answer is clear today. Avril was back on the practice field today, albeit as a limited participant. He is still listed as dealing with a back issue and concussion.

The news is also good elsewhere as Calvin Johnson (knee), Chris Houston (ankle) and Erik Coleman (toe) all returned to practice on a limited basis after missing yesterday.

Coleman’s return to the practice field is particularly good news considering that Louis Delmas (knee) and Amari Spievey (concussion) did not practice once again. The likelihood of either man playing on Sunday dwindles with each passing day that they remain off the practice field. Corey Williams (knee) also remains out.

Jason Hanson (foot), Ashlee Palmer (chest) and Titus Young (knee) are the only other Lions listed on the injury report for a second straight day. Hanson, Palmer and Young were limited for a second straight day.
