Detroit Lions Get DeAndre Levy Back at Practice, Others Remain Out

The Detroit Lions got back to work today as they turn their attention to the Minnesota Vikings. The good news is that DeAndre Levy is practicing, at least on a temporary basis, again after missing the last two days. The bad news is that a number of important players remain out.

Calvin Johnson missed practice all week last week but played brilliantly against the Jaguars. The Lions may follow the same script to protect CJ’s ailing knee so it is no surprise that he is on the sidelines today. Fellow wide receiver Titus Young is also out. He has been dealing with a knee injury.

Defensive linemen Cliff Avril, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Corey Williams also missed practice, although a day of rest has become customary for Vanden Bosch.

The Lions were without starting safeties Louis Delmas and Amari Spievey a week ago and their status for Sunday is very much in doubt with both missing practice today.

The team will release their first official injury report of the week later this afternoon.
