When Mikel Leshoure missed practice yesterday, the Detroit Lions limited the information to calling it a personal matter and that he had been excused for the day.
Nothing more was to be gained from the official injury report which listed Leshoure’s absence as “not injury related”.
It turns out that was all true. The reason for his absence is now known and it turns out to be a pretty good one:
#Lions Mikel Leshoure was absent Wednesday for birth of his son, Mikel Leshoure Jr. who weighed in at 9 lbs, 8 oz. Dad back at work today.

Congrats to Mikel!
What are the chances he follows Titus Young’s lead and adds “SR” to his jersey nameplate?
