The Detroit Lions started their week of practice yesterday but weren’t required to release an injury report because they play next Monday, not Sunday. The first injury report of the week was released this afternoon.
Bill Bentley (shoulder), Louis Delmas (knee), Jacob Lacey (concussion) and Kyle Vanden Bosch (non-injury) did not participate in today’s practice. Vanden Bosch and Delmas were simply receiving a day of rest but the status of Bentley and Lacey is concerning to the point that the Lions re-signed Alphonso Smith.
Perhaps the best news is that Corey Williams, coming off knee surgery last month, was able to practice today although he did so as a limited participant. As was the case with Delmas, how Williams’ knee responds to activity will be the greater indicator of his ability to play than the simple fact that he was back at practice.
