Detroit Lions Game Balls for the Win Over Eagles

The Detroit Lions got back on the winning track at the expense of the Philadelphia Eagles and there are a lot of players worthy of recognition. This week’s game balls go to an entire group of players and the man that sealed the victory.

Lions Front Seven – The story for much of the game was the Lions’ ability to pressure Michael Vick and stop the run. It was a total team effort with all members of the Lions’ front seven worthy of recognition. Justin Durant and Stephen Tulloch led the team with eight tackles each while Tulloch was able to get in on the Vick hit parade. Cliff Avril sacked Vick twice while Kyle Vanden Bosch and Nick Fairley teamed up for a huge sack in overtime.

Jason Hanson – He provided the only offense for the Lions in the first half and hit key game-tying and game-winning field goals. Hanson’s two kicks of over 40 yards were more difficult than normal thanks to the windy conditions in Philadelphia. He may be the oldest player in the NFL, but he’s still got it.

Who do you think is worthy of a game ball this week?

Delmas deserves this game’s game ball, not only because of the big plays he made but for firing up the defense too.

Delmas proved to be a big boost to the defense but that busted coverage on the Maclin touchdown may have been his fault. He was good but it was the front seven that were great.
