The Detroit Lions hit the practice field for the first time since their loss to the 49ers last week. The start of this work week brought one important player back to the field: Mikel Leshoure.
Leshoure was suspended two games as punishment for his offseason arrests. With those two games now over, Leshoure is free to practice with this teammates. The Lions have a 4 p.m. deadline to make room for Leshoure on the 53-man roster.
Chris Houston, who was limited in practice last week and missed Sunday’s game, and Bill Bentley, who missed all week with a concussion, were also on the practice field today.
Calvin Johnson, Louis Delmas, Travis Lewis, Tony Scheffler and Corey Williams reportedly did not practice. It is believed Johnson is simply receiving a day of rest. Delmas, Lewis and Williams were all listed on last week’s injury report with known ailments.
The Lions will release their first official injury report of the week later this afternoon.
