Lots of Football for Fans in Detroit Prior to Lions vs. 49ers

Detroit Lions fans have a longer wait than usual to watch their team play on Sunday thanks to their appearance on Sunday Night Football. Thankfully, there is an awful lot of football to help pass the time until Lions football begins.

Here is a rundown of games that will be available in the Detroit television market:

FOX will broadcast just one game to each market this week with the Minnesota Vikings game at the Indianapolis Colts (1 p.m.) the choice for fans in Southeast Michigan. Thom Brennaman will have the play-by-play while Brian Billick, a former Vikings coordinator, will offer his analysis.

The CBS doubleheader kicks off in the Detroit area with Baltimore at Philadelphia. Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf man the broadcast booth for that one.

Following Ravens-Eagles, football fans in Detroit will get the Jets at Steelers. CBS has designated this their headlining game of the week and sent their top broadcast team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms to Pittsburgh.
