Detroit Lions Injury Update: Calvin Johnson Returns to Practice, Others Remain Out

There was a surprising name on the Detroit Lions injury list yesterday. Calvin Johnson did not practice and a foot ailment was listed as the culprit when the injury list was released yesterday afternoon.

The foot probably really is sore, but it doesn’t look like there is any reason to be concerned about Calvin Johnson’s health. It was likely more of a convenient reason to let the star wide receiver rest.

Chris Houston (ankle) was able to practice for a second straight day after missing the preseason finale and regular season opener.

The news is less positive elsewhere. Bill Bentley is still being held out of practice after suffering a concussion against the Rams and Louis Delmas remains out following knee surgery. Also missing practice were Lawrence Jackson (calf), Travis Lewis (quad) and Corey Williams (knee).

The official updated injury report will be released later today.
