The Lions have been in desperate need of some good news at the running back position but got it today when Mikel Leshoure took the field. He emerged from the training facility with his helmet in hand for the first time since early in training camp signalling his return as a regular participant in practice.
Leshoure has been sidelined with a hamstring issue and reduced to either watching practice or working out with a trainer on the periphery while the full team practiced on the field.
You can expect that the Lions will be slow to work Leshoure back in the mix. Partly because he may be behind the rest of the group due to his absence and partly as a cautionary measure. It is also probably too much to ask for Leshoure to see playing time against the Ravens on Friday night. With just a couple practices under his belt it might do more harm than good. An extra week of practice might serve him better to make his debut against the Oakland Raiders.
