The Detroit Lions concluded their mandatory minicamp today and while it is likely some players will be around the Lions’ training facility this summer, they won’t be required to be back until the start of training camp.
I’m sure many are with me in feeling that the summer is just getting started. That being the case, we’re just six weeks away from the Lions’ first on-field activities of training camp.
Rookies and players coming off injuries will report on July 23 while their healthy veteran teammates will report on July 26. Reporting day general includes a few meetings and a team dinner with the first real practice taking place the following morning.
The job over the next six weeks is simple for Detroit Lions players: get ready for training camp and stay out of trouble.
