Titus Young and Nick Fairley have each had recent issues to deal with but both were with the Lions when OTAs resumed today. If you think that meant they would have to face some tough questions about their actions, maturity and commitment to the team, you’d be mistaken.
Lions security escorted Young and Fairley off the practice field to block media questions

Titus Young released a statement earlier in the day but the shielding from the media is somewhat curious because the incident that led to his absence from workouts earlier in the month has no legal implications. Nick Fairley, on the other hand, faces new charges of DUI, speeding and eluding police from his actions over the holiday weekend.
For now, the Lions are choosing to keep the Fairley business in house.
It isn’t unusual for a player to withhold comment on a pending legal matter but escorting Fairley off the field with team security seems extreme. Whatever happened to the “no comment” broken record. It’s an extreme move at best and at worst, a sign that the continual issues that have plagued the Lions so far this summer are becoming a distraction. Whatever the case, the only cure is for the young Lions to grow up fast.
