This pick screams of success to me! The Colts under Manning are not the only team to look at the draft in this way. Look at the Packers too, they won the Super Bowl two years ago and came back by adding offensive weapons like Cobb and Starks the following draft. The reason people like to complain though is that it "appears" illogical (and reminds us of the Millen days of WR's every 1st round!), until you imagine in your mind a 4 wide set with Johnson, Broyles, Burleson and Young. These 4 guys combined are the most talented batch of receivers the Lions have ever fielded, and that is saying a lot considering we had Matt Millen taking WR's in the first round 3 years in a row not too long ago. All of these guys are dynamic play makers. Sure only one of them is 6-5, but we have Pettigrew as another "big" target all ready. We needed more explosive, quick and FAST targets that can take an opposing secondary and force them to be undermanned somewhere. You put that many "Quick" guys on the field with a QB like Stafford, and his laser guided missile launching arm, and there will rarely be plays he can't get the ball to an open guy.
