The pick is in…

Who: Riley Reiff
What: Offensive Tackle
Where: Iowa
When: Round 1, Pick 23
Why: It’s no secret that the Lions need help on the offensive line and they have no in-house candidate to replace Jeff Backus at left tackle. Now they do. Riley Reiff is a former tight end so he brings an athletic element to the tackle position and has experience playing on the right and left side at Iowa. He can push for playing time at right tackle and immediately step in for Jeff Backus when needed. The Lions get good value here as Reiff was widely projected to be off the board by the time the Lions got on the clock.
