The Lions have used pre-draft visits on players ranging from sure-fire first rounders to players that likely won’t be drafted at all. Braylon Broughton fits more at the end of that spectrum. It’s possible the Lions are looking at him for one of their late draft picks or just doing their due diligence in case he’s available as an undrafted free agent.

Broughton made just five collegiate starts and recorded three sacks in 42 games with the Horned Frogs. The limited scouting report information on him indicates a lack of explosion and technique but he is noted as a hard worker that keeps his motor running throughout the play. The Lions may see a good attitude and a good body worth taking a low risk chance on when they look at Braylon Broughton.

It looks like the Lions got a steal when they drafted Willie Young in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Can they replicate that success with Braylon Broughton? They may get a chance to find out.
