Presenting the Detroit Lions 2012 #MockThree Draft Class

I had the privilege of participating in a huge mock draft on twitter over the past week or so. Those on twitter could follow the action using the hashtag #MockThree. This mock was billed as the “War Room Edition” as each team was represented by a General Manager and two Assistant General Managers.

I want to thank Michael Schottey for including me in the process and his scouting knowledge and direction through the entire mock draft. A thanks also goes out to Josh Liskiewitz and Ty Schalter for their work as my cohorts at the assistant level. If you’re on twitter and don’t follow these guys then you need to fix that immediately (@Schottey, @JoshLiskiewitz and @lionsinwinter).

When it was all said and done, including a couple trades, our draft class looked like this:

Pick (Overall)
2.09 (41) Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina
3.08 (71) Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina
3.10 (73) Jamell Fleming, CB, Oklahoma
4.08 (103) Brandon Mosley, OT, Auburn
4.22 (117) Ryan Broyles, WR, Oklahoma
5.23 (158) Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan St.
6.17 (187) Tauren Poole, RB, Tennessee
7.23 (230) Josh LeRibeus, OG, SMU

You can find all the picks at mockone.net. Also, a big thanks to all the guys that made #MockThree possible!

I felt like we were able to address some needs and add depth to the team with a balanced draft. What do you think, Lions fans?

There is plenty more to come, #MockFour is now underway!
