Corey Williams - good point - BUT Mayhew has publicly stated that he nor Nate Burleson will be cut because of what they bring to the locker room. That makes him unlikely to be traded. NOT impossible though. I see A. Smith as the most probable player (if any) being traded here...Philly will want a gambling nickleback to put in Asante's spot AND Mayhew has already put the word out that Smith is on the block.

Also worth note. The eagles are in the market for a DT and we happen to have one in Corey Williams that they might be interested in. Moving Williams would alleviate the cap space necessary to absorb Samuel, and would fill positions of need for both teams.

Don't forget, at his age, Samuel is a candidate for a Safety conversion. The interest may come from that angle. I LOVE the idea of Samuel sporting Honalulu Blue HOWEVER he doesn't tackle well enough to be successful as a safety in our system and he costs too much for cornerback right now. If they wanted him that badly as a cornerback they would have worked this deal before signing Lacey. PLUS if we get him in under the cap there will be no room for Atogwe or Shaw. This is either a smokescreen or (as much as it pains me to say it) a bad move. I would rather they snag Kirkpatrick. IN MAYHEW WE TRUST!
