In a report about the upcoming 2012 NFL schedule, ProFootballTalk.com mentioned that the Lions will host an AFC opponent on Thanksgiving. The only AFC opponents the Lions play at home this year are the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts, which means that the Lions will play one of them on Turkey Day.
It would be interesting to see if the Detroit Lions will play the Indianapolis Colts on Thanksgiving instead of the Houston Texans because that will match quarterback Matthew Stafford and expected number one rookie draft pick quarterback Andrew Luck against each other in front of a large national TV audience.
In addition, the Lions’ newly acquired free agent CB Jacob Lacey would get a chance to play against his old team. Lacey played three seasons for the Colts and recorded 158 tackles, 5 interceptions and 2 total touchdowns.
