Detroit Lions Lose out on Geoff Schwartz to Vikings

Free agent offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz had a good visit with the Detroit Lions but he left without a contract and has agreed to a deal. To add insult to injury, he’ll play within the division with the Minnesota Vikings.

In the end the Lions just didn’t have as appealing of a situation. The Lions return their entire offensive line while the Vikings are looking for two new guards. One opportunity may have been an up-hill battle while the other had a clear path towards playing time.

As a former full-time starter, it isn’t surprising that Schwartz made the decision he did. That’s the way it goes.
