Matthew Stafford didn’t just have the best season of his three year career in 2011, he had the best season the Lions organization has ever received out of the quarterback position. His 5,038 passing yards were easily a franchise best and ranks as the fifth best total in NFL history. Stafford also set franchise records for completions, attempts and touchdowns as just a 23-year old.
(1 seed) Cliff Avril
First Round: bye
Second Round: def Bobby Carpenter
Third Round: def Justin Durant
Fourth Round: def Stephen Tulloch
Fifth Roud: def Ndamukong Suh
Coming off a nine sack season might make some think that Cliff Avril couldn’t improve his sack total for a fourth consecutive year but he did just that. Beyond the 11 sacks, Avril made his presence felt with six forced fumbles and interception and two touchdowns.
