SLR Detroit Lions Player Of The Year Tournament Second Round: Matthew Stafford vs. Rashied Davis

The second round of the 2011 SideLion Report Detroit Lions player of the year tournament is almost complete! Take a look at the bracket.

We’re finishing up the offensive side of the bracket today. Who will move on to the Sweet 16?

(1 seed) Matthew Stafford vs. (8 seed) Rashied Davis

Matthew Stafford didn’t just have the best season of his three year career in 2011, he had the best season the Lions organization has ever received out of the quarterback position. His 5,038 passing yards were easily a franchise best and ranks as the fifth best total in NFL history. Stafford also set franchise records for completions, attempts and touchdowns as just a 23-year old.

The Lions targeted Rashied Davis as a free agent because of his work ethic and versatility. That was evident this season as Davis made appearances on special teams, offense and defense when injuries were ravaging the Lions secondary. Davis totaled four catches for 63 yards as a wide receiver and was one of the team’s top special teams performers.

Who should advance to the third round of the 2011 SideLion Report Player of the Year Tournament?

  • Matthew Stafford (98%, 59 Votes)
  • Rashied Davis (2%, 1 Votes)

Total Voters: 60
