New England Patriots or New York Giants? Should We Care Who Wins?

It was a lot easier to decide who to root for last year when the division rival Green Bay Packers were playing in the Super Bowl. Without a common “enemy” there is no natural way for the Lions fanbase to lean. Especially considering both teams have players with local college ties.

With neither the Patriots or Giants appearing on the Lions’ 2010 schedule there isn’t any way to view this Super Bowl in any sort of Lions-related context. The Lions played very well in beating the Patriots in the third preseason game but a Super Bowl win by the Patriots hardly adds a gold star to the Lions’ season.

Vote in the poll to let us know which team you’ll be rooting for. I’m interested in seeing what kind of a split we end up with.

Who do you want to win Super Bowl XLVI?

  • New York Giants (59%, 10 Votes)
  • New England Patriots (41%, 7 Votes)

Total Voters: 17
