SLR Detroit Lions Player of the Year Tournament First Round: Stefan Logan vs. Don Muhlbach

SideLion Report has great readers so it makes sense that you should have a say in helping us name the SideLion Report Detroit Lions player of the year. The players have been seeded and placed into a tournament bracket with each matchup determined by a reader vote.

To ensure that everyone has a chance to vote, polls will remain open until midnight on the west coast. At that time, a winner will be declared and the tournament will continue with another matchup the following day.

We’re staying in the special teams portion of the bracket today. Who will move on to round two?

(6 seed) Stefan Logan vs. (11 seed) Don Muhlbach

Stefan Logan returned 55 kickoffs in each of the past two seasons but saw that number fall to 33 as a result of new kickoff rules instituted prior to the 2011 season. He averaged 25.2 yards per kick return and 8.1 yards per punt return, both are career lows.

The thing about a longsnapper is that he doesn’t get noticed unless something goes wrong. Don Muhlbach didn’t get noticed this year.

Who should advance to the second round of the 2011 SideLion Report Player of the Year Tournament?

  • Don Muhlbach (73%, 24 Votes)
  • Stefan Logan (27%, 9 Votes)

Total Voters: 33
