On with Sunday’s picks…

Houston Texans (+9) at Baltimore Ravens
How many touchdowns will J.J. Watt score this week? Probably None. The Texans played very well on defense a week ago but that was at home against a rookie quarterback. Joe Flacco still has plenty of doubters out there but with Ray Rice in the backfield, home field advantage and a week of rest, the Ravens should have little trouble against the Texans and their third-string rookie quarterback. Nine points is a lot to give in the playoffs but the Patriots showed that it really doesn’t matter when the matchup is in the favorites, well, favor. I’m giving the points and flying with the Ravens.

New York Giants (+7.5) at Green Bay Packers
Having beaten the Giants on the road earlier this season, part of me believes the Packers should win comfortably. On the other hand, last week’s performance by the Giants has me thinking back to their last Super Bowl run when the team came together at just the right time. Could we be seeing that again?
Maybe, maybe not but the possibility has me willing to take the points and see what happens.
