Anyway, when Martin was asked about his progress, he talked a little about Jones but also went on an amusing tangent about former Detroit Lions quarterback Scott Mitchell. Here it is:

To make you feel a little bit better about the whole situation, you’ll be happy to know the Lions aren’t the only team facing salary cap dilemmas this offseason. In fact, it could easily be argued that the New Orleans Saints have it worse.

Between 2007 and 2010, the Lions drafted No. 1 overall once and twice were at No. 2. The combined 2012 cap numbers of those three players are going to be nearly $52 million, based on numbers I saw that were updated at midseason.
