Jahvid Best Feeling Good Heading into Off-Season

The Detroit Lions don’t have a talent problem at running back but there are questions to be answered at that position thanks to injuries to both Jahvid Best and Mikel Leshoure. Today is locker clean out day at the Lions training facility and Jahvid Best took a few moments to talk with the media.

Detroit Free Press beat writer Dave Birkett tweeted the following:

Jahvid Best said he’s symptom free and will “definitely” be back playing next year

Best’s confidence in his status for the future was evident in a tweet from Jennifer Hammond as well:

@J4hvidbest “I’ll be ready to go with the rest of the guys…I have no doubts”

It’s all good news for now but, like Matthew Stafford a year ago, Jahvid Best will have to prove he can stay healthy for an entire season.

It might sound strange, but I think a healthy Leshoure would actually be more beneficial than a healthy Best (if I had a choice). Lions don’t lack explosiveness (what Best provides) they lack a churning ground game that can be counted on positive chunks of yards (what Leshoure can hopefully provide)
