Mike Martz Out as Chicago Bears’ Offensive Coordinator

Detroit Lions fans will remember that Mike Martz has a very particular way of doing things and flexibility is not one trait that he is known for. With uncertainty in the air in Chicago (the Bears fired general manager Jerry Angelo this morning), the Chicago Tribune is reporting that Mike Martz has resigned citing “philosophical differences”. At some point, Martz will have worked with everyone in football and found himself to have philosophical differences with all of them.

Martz’s name came up in rumors surrounding college coaching jobs like Arizona State so it really isn’t a surprise that he is moving on from the Bears, especially given the way the offense fell apart following the loss of Jay Cutler.
