The Lions secondary has been a battered and bruised bunch all season.
It has battled through the adversity, however, and Sunday it came up with several important plays in the playoff-clinching 38-10 victory against San Diego at Ford Field.
Diehard Lions fans have endured one disappointing season after another but this time Danny Metzger knew things would be different. Six months ago he placed a $100 bet in Las Vegas and if the Lions go all the way, that $100 will turn into $4,200.00 for Metzger who now lives in Dallas, Texas.
By defeating the San Diego Chargers 38-10 Saturday the Detroit Lions have qualified for the postseason for the first time since 1999. A strong showing in the Super Bowl tournament would do more for the value of the Lions than any other NFL team.
Now, with the top seed already secured, McCarthy probably has decided what he will do in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Detroit Lions even if he wouldn’t come right out and say it.
