Whether you’re usually for him or against him, all Lions fans should be united in thanking Tim Tebow this evening. The Chicago Bears led the Denver Broncos 10-0 late in the fourth quarter but Tebow found Demaryius Thomas for a 10-yard toucdown pass and Matt Prater kicked a 59-yard field goal to send the game into overtime.
The Bears took the overtime kick off and marched into field goal range but a fumble by Marion Barber changed the face of the game dramatically. Tim Tebow was his usual self in the overtime but also was able to complete three of four passes to set up Matt Prater’s 51-yard field goal to win the game.
The win puts the Lions a full game clear of the Bears in the playoff race but it also is important for the Lions as it is a Bears loss against a team the Lions beat earlier in the year. Results against common opponents is just one of the tie-breakers that could come into play at season’s end.
Thank you, Tim, Thank you.
