Words Say Detroit Lions Ready to Turn it Around but Actions Will Be What Matters

I wasn’t in the Lions locker room after the loss to the Saints but I can imagine that it wasn’t a happy place. According to Mlive’s Phil Zaroo, there was at least a consensus opinion among the players:

It’s pretty unanimous in the #Lions locker room, where sentiment is: We need to grow up

Uh, yeah.

The point is obvious to anyone that watched the Lions last night. Unfortunately, it is the same thing that was a theme coming out of the previous game against the Green Bay Packers.

It is nice to hear the Lions acknowledge the need to change their ways but what we saw against the Saints is more a pattern of behavior than an isolated incident. At this point is it possible to right the ship? If it wasn’t a priority to avoid stupid mistakes in the past why should we believe these aren’t empty words now?

I hate that I have to even ask these questions but it is the reality of the state the Lions find themselves now. All eyes have been on the Lions since they started 5-0. Adversity has set in and the team has not responded well so far, let’s just hope it isn’t too late for their ultimate response to turn out much better.
