SLR Game Balls: Matthew Stafford Makes it Look Simple in the Big Easy

Game Ball of the Week: Matthew Stafford
In a matchup with one of the game’s true elite quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford put together a game that put him on par, even if it was just for a night, with Drew Brees. He finished with 31 completions on 44 attempts for 408 yards and a touchdown. The Saints defense shaded heavily towards Calvin Johnson for most of the night but Stafford was still able to move the offense through the air.

Honorable Mention: Nick Fairley
The Lions 2011 first round draft choice got his first start due to the suspension of Ndamukong Suh and had a huge impact in the first quarter. Fairley was effective shedding blocks in playing the run and recorded his first career sack. Unfortunately, an injury limited his opportunities and effectiveness later in the game but the future looks extremely bright for Nick Fairley.
