At the beginning of the season, the Detroit Lions were considered one of the hottest teams in the NFL and a lock for the playoffs after a 5-0 start. However, things have changed over the last month as the Lions have lost three of their last four games–making it seem like they may not be a lock for the playoffs after all.

Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey did not make the trip to Detroit and has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Lions.

It’s not a record of any sort, or even a milestone he contemplated reaching when the Lions took him in the second round of the draft 10 years ago.
