Bye Weeks Split NFC North in Half

It was a quiet week in the NFC North with the Packers and Bears on their byes. The Lions made the most of the opportunity to play in front of a wide viewing audience by dismantling the Tim Tebow-led Denver Broncos. The Minnesota Vikings got an up close and personal look at Cam Newton. The number one overall pick played very well but it was fellow rookie quarterback Christian Ponder’s team that came away with the victory.

With half of the NFC North having played eight games and the other half having played seven, the current standings look like this:

Team Record Home Road
Packers 7-0 3-0 4-0
Lions 6-2 2-2 4-0
Bears 4-3 3-1 1-2
Vikings 2-6 1-3 1-3

NFC North Week 9 Schedule
Detroit Lions – bye
Minnesota Vikings – bye
Green Bay Packers at San Diego Chargers
Chicago Bears at Philadelphia Eagles (Monday Night Football)
