SLR Game Balls: Detroit Lions at Denver Broncos

The Lions allowed the Broncos to move down the field for a field goal on their opening possession but that was hardly a harbinger of things to come. The Lions went on to put together arguably their best game of the year and systematically dismantled the Broncos on both sides of the ball.

While the win will go down as a total team effort, there are two Lions that deserve to be recognized with a SideLion Report game ball.

Cliff Avril – It is a speciAl Day when a defensive lineman scores a touchdown. Cliff Avril got his first career touchdown after stripping Tim Tebow for a second time on the day. The Lions defense made a habit of sacking Tim Tebow but it was the pair from Cliff Avril that had the biggest impact on the game.

Matthew Stafford – Coming off two straight less-than-efficient performances, Matthew Stafford returned to the form we had been used to seeing earlier in the season. He completed 70% of his passes for 267 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions before giving way to Shaun Hill.
